Succeed the environmental transition

Your Airport is Carbon Accredited – What does it mean?

With airport operations on almost complete halt for several months and industry-wide revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) down by 75% in August 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic crisis is recognized by many key industry players as the most significant crisis in the modern aviation times.

However, such perturbing events have opened new opportunities to “greenify” the aviation industry, starting with on-the-ground activities, such as airports.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published the guidelines for countries to follow during the aviation industry recovery period, putting in the spotlight the importance to address sustainability along the whole aviation value chain and encourage investments in the green transition to create long-term resilience of the industry and respond to current environmental issues.

Therefore, at I Care & Consult, we are proud to support this change by being an official Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) verifier and therefore guide airports in this steady transition to a more sustainable future.

What does it mean when you enter an airport which is Carbon Accredited? Find out in the infographic below, prepared by our consultants Lucie Mouthuy and Tony Jugan.
